I made three videos using Photo Booth on my MacBook and, instead of clicking the little camera button to end the recording session (the same button you would click to begin recording), I simply pressed command+W to close the window/program. When I tried to play the files, I noticed that the videos were not appearing in the little strip at the bottom of Photo Booth. I was able to locate them in Finder, but the files won't play with Quicktime or Quick View or any other program I have on my MacBook (not even VLC).

I've had recording just halt, or occasionally get random video-frames that are broken-up and 'glitchy' onscreen. Wasn't sure if it was a background process interfering with PhotoBooth - or what. Well here's to hoping the version with Snow Leopard is more reliable.
SteamFantom Great & Easy to use but is buggy with catastrophic flaws Loved using the SLRBooth on PC so it was exciting to see an option to have the same great program on the iPad. Unfortunately, there is a major glitch with using the front-facing camera and video/GIF animation output. The image is reversed so all the text is backwards. It is nice for Live viewing and is flipped back correctly for prints/photos but look very amateur when the participants receive a backwards image. It really ruins the whole experience =( Everyone loves the trendy Boomerang GIFs but the flawed output feels like Old-School just trying to catch-up with new devices and technology. Would definitely rate it five stars with some bug fixes. Developer Response }} Thank you for review.
But maybe some expert can figure out which bit to unset in the finder info (rather than deleting the whole object).

Well here's to hoping the version with Snow Leopard is more reliable. It's a shame, I love PhotoBooth for doing YouTube vids - When I use QuickTime capture I often have audio sync problems that PhotoBooth doesn't seem prone to.
I know the data was captured because the files are about 10MB each, but it seems improperly ending the session (with the Command+W) prevented the movies from being properly finalized. Is there any method for sealing/finalizing the videos after the fact? In other words, is there any hope for salvaging this content or is it lost forever? Me and some friends were messing around on Photo Booth and we took a lengthy video (about 10 minutes) to put up on Youtube. We weren't done with the video and everything was still recording when I left for a minute. When I returned, Photo Booth was closed. My friend has never used a Mac before and he's not sure what he did. He says he was trying to quit out of another program and he might've accidentally quit Photo Booth. Either that, or he pressed the X, thinking it was the minimize button on Windows. Anyways, where is the part of the video that we actually recorded?

From within Photo Booth you can also right-click (or control-click) on any image in the bottom bar and select 'Export.' Or 'Reveal in Finder' from the pop-up menu to access the image. The former gives you a Save dialog that lets you place the image file in some easily accessible location. The latter opens up that Pictures directory in the package I mentioned above directly in a Finder window. In lion the folder 'Photo Booth Library' has some extended file attributes that will make you open photo booth rather than simply the folder. To access your files in the finder, eg. For using them in avatars or email attachments you need the terminal (Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and have to go in the terminal to your Pictures folder by typing cd Pictures/ now, you can either • remove those extended file attributes (you'll need the developer tools for this) by typing xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo Photo Booth Library/ this removes the nice icon of the folder (side-effect, sorry) and changes the behavior of finder so that it just opens that folder rather than opening the photo booth app.
