As an FYI, I'm exploring the use of 'XMarks' xmarks.com - which claims to seamlessly synchronize all popular browsers on the Mac, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc. I too can't use Safari because it doesn't work on many of my Corporate sites and has lots of trouble so I stick with Firefox and/or Chrome to accomplish many of my daily tasks.

I use firefox and the google browser sync extension on several OSX and windows machines (I can't run Safari on all these) so I think I need a way of syncing firefox and safari on the mac I sync my iPod to. There’s also a Pins extension for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome so bookmarks can show up on the most used browsers on all your Macs. It’s more money but the sync works and bookmark management is more intuitive. Bookmarks might be one of those browser specific necessary evils. They’re useful, yes, but managing bookmarks and keeping them in sync requires a third party app or extra effort if you use more than Safari.

Just makes sense to me. Having recently done a very stupid thing and deleted bookmark folders from my iPhone (just did not THINK about the fact that when my iPhone & Mac were synced the folders would be deleted from Safari/Mac as well!!)
