Dear Adam Thank you for contacting Canon product support. I understand that you are inquiring about Canon's software compatibility with the new Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra operating system.
Here's one: 10,000 insertion/removal cycles assume 5 insertion/removal cycles per day, every day, that's 2000 days, or 5.5 years, and with a more realistic 1 insertion/removal cycle per day, every day, it'd be over 27 years until it wears out. As i said, you'll probably want a newer camera for *other* reasons before the slot or card fails (higher resolution, new features, etc.). You're also ignoring the wear of insertion/removal of the usb cable. The only card slot failures i've heard of are bent pins in compact flash slots, which is entirely the fault of the user from forcing the card, not due to wear and tear. ErikRS 30/9/2016, 9:23 น. The onen on the back of my 2010 mac mini doesn;t seem to work but as I don't really need it I'm not worried. I evenm used my keyboard USB port the other day, just forgot how slow it could be. Please do not send us your credit card number or other personal or financial account information via email. Second Conversation. I have an iPhone 6s with a tiny camera, that takes beautiful RAW format images, it has in-camera HDR, Panoramic stitching, takes 4K video and time lapse has standard and goes everywhere with me - I’m beginning to understand why so much Canon pro gear is in the secondhand market - why carry a laptop, and pro camera, L lenses when for many situations the phone does it all - It even has Lightroom built in! (I know the answers, in the real world I use an SLR for control, ultimate image (lens) quality, speed (shot to shot, and shutter lag), etc but you get my point?).
You report those bugs to the party that released the Beta, not to third parties. In fact, beta testers will typically have dedicated 'beta platforms' for conducting tests. If you expect thrid party develiopers to change their existing software base to accomodate a bug ridden beta release, then you need to stop using Betas. To be fair to the OP, he inhabits a different world from the one with which you and I are familiar. Apple has repeatedly shown its indifference to problems caused by the lack of backwards compatibility of its operating systems.

The instruction manuals warn users that Canon does not support their use. Probably because they are made by someone else.
I was able to find this and hope it is helpful to you guys: We are trying to work with Canon Engineers to find out more info on this, I will be happy to relay any info I can back to this thread. Have a happy new year! Michael Atman. In following on from this original post.

I will be able to assist you. Canon had made an announcement that they would be posting software compatibility information by the end of September. That compatibility information was made available today at the website below: Scroll down the list and click on [Digital Camera, Digital EOS Camera, Digital Video Camcorders Software]. There you will find a link to the compatibility chart. Software updates are expected in mid-October.
Peter Humfryes wrote: Thank you for this. I did notice it had been updated but because I didn't see OSX 10.12 featured I assumed it was for older versions of OSX. Can you confirm if it now supports tethering of the 5DMKiv? Unfortunately I cannot confirm.
What you need to do with it is simply throw it away! Now close the mess of folders that you just opened, and run the UpdateInstaller from your desktop. It should open just like any other app installer and actually give you the full EOS Utility. Now, you can be like all the other kids on your block who use this software! Good job, buckaroo. Conclusion Bear in mind that I used this with my model of camera (Canon 60D), but based on what I have seen by other Canon users, the trick should work fairly well with everyone else out there. Furthermore, this seems to work on all updater versions, so you shouldn’t have a problem regardless of when you lost your CD.

Get bigger cards, but regardless, it's still over 5 years if that's done *every* day (which it isn't). > > as i said, you'll probably want a newer camera for *other* reasons > > before the slot or card fails (higher resolution, new features, etc.). > > > > you're also ignoring the wear of insertion/removal of the usb cable. > > Spare cables are easier to deal with than trying to recover data from a > damaged card. Your merchandise is absolutely beautiful and unique right down to your website and the packaging your products arrive in. I absolutely love my MacBook skin. Ebony wood wikipedia. After that, open its context menu and click Show Package Contents. Next, click the Contents folder in the next window, and within that, open the Resources folder. Within this folder, you’ll find something called SDI.bundle. Just like before, open its context menu and click Show Package Contents. You’ll see yet another Contents folder that leads to a Resources folder, so click through them. Within the Resources folder will be a file called “update.plist”.
Strange I don't find it that much of a pain and don't forget cables in the back of the imac too and are slower. With my EOS M3 I can set it so it creates a new folder everyday. When importing into Lightroom I have the import settings set so that image files are loaded in a chronological system, one folder per specific date.

Before upgrading, it's a good idea to. Then follow these steps: • Open the App Store app on your Mac. • Search the App Store for macOS High Sierra,. • Click the Download button on the High Sierra page. If your Mac is compatible with High Sierra, a file named Install macOS High Sierra downloads to your Applications folder. • After download is complete, the installer opens automatically. Click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
That is why feedback processes exist. Furthermore, if you want to read about the Appleseed project, you will learn more of what I participate in.
Waddizzle wrote: 'I am using a beta version of the new MacOS Sierra. In the early stages of the beta, the EOS Utility worked fine but in the past 2 releases, it has failed.' That is why it is called a Beta. Don't blame Canon because their existing app may not work with a Beta. Is that meant to be helpful? I did not criticise Canon, merely raised the issue and wondering if others were experiencing the same problem.
Apple recently released Mac OS X v10.12 Sierra. We have discovered some issues with the compatibility of Canon’s Camera Window DC, EOS Utility and Map Utility software programs with Mac OS X v10.12 Sierra that may cause certain functions of such Canon software not to work. Before upgrading your OS to Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra, please review the compatibility chart below: We will update our support policy Mid-October.

Apart from this you donot need a browser to download and/or update the firmware. This can be done through the EOS software as well - and /here EOS Utility is a must have/.
