It is not as simple as run, so you have to open a terminal window - hit command and spacebar at the same time - this is the equivalent of run in windows - and you can just type in terminal - it should find the program - hit enter navigate to the Outlook directory /Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Microsoft Outlook.app/Contents/MacOS type./Microsoft Outlook /cleanreminders & I also had another folder where i kept all appointment related emails - I found the offending appointments in that directory and deleted them - that seemed to help as well.
